Workload automation & job scheduling without the enterprise price tag
IDRuns is a workload automation platform: define, schedule, run and monitor batch jobs across your servers from one web console. Orchestrations chain jobs into visual pipelines with conditions, loops, approvals and retries. A lower-cost alternative to Tidal or ActiveBatch, with published pricing, five agents included, and a live demo you can try today.
No install required to explore — the live demo runs the real application.
idruns.exe is a self-contained Windows
build — no installer; admin rights are only needed if you install it as a service. To run it locally:
- Download
idruns.exeusing the button above. - Run it from a command prompt.
- Answer the setup wizard: admin username/password, which network addresses to listen on, integrated database or SQL Server (use SQL Server for production), and whether to enable demo mode.
- Your answers are saved to
idruns.env, so you're not asked again. - Choose Yes when it offers to install IDRuns as a service: Windows asks for administrator
rights, then IDRuns starts with the computer and keeps running after you sign out. Choose No to just try it
in that window; you can run
idruns.exe install-servicelater. - IDRuns opens in your browser. If it doesn't, go to
http://localhost:8010.
Linux: the idruns
download is a single self-contained executable with the same setup wizard. Make it executable and run it:
chmod +x idruns && ./idruns. To keep it running
as a systemd service, run sudo ./idruns install-service
afterwards.
What is IDRuns?
IDRuns is a single-pane console for workload automation: the scheduled, dependency-driven execution of jobs — scripts, commands, file transfers, database tasks and API calls — across many machines.
Side note: pronounced "it runs" — as in, your jobs just run.
The server holds every definition, schedule and run history. Lightweight agent processes on your other machines poll the server over HTTP and execute the work. An integrated database gets you running on a single box for evaluation and demos; SQL Server is supported for production, including high-availability deployments.
Teams adopt IDRuns as their first proper scheduler, consolidate cron sprawl, Windows Task Scheduler and homegrown wrapper scripts into it, or move over from another enterprise scheduler. Experienced schedulers will recognise the concepts straight away; everyone else gets a simple, guided path to proficiency. Same result either way: every scheduled workload in one place you can see and control.
